Miss Pathak is one of St. Louis’ amazing Biology teachers, known for her enthusiasm, kindness, and ability to make her students genuinely enjoy learning. She isn’t just passionate about Biology, she’s passionate about helping students see how fascinating the world around us really is. Her energy in the classroom and her ability to connect biological syllabus content to everyday life make her lessons both memorable and inspiring.
Before joining St. Louis, Miss Pathak had a very exciting and adventurous career path that took her across the world. She started her teaching journey in Birmingham, England (the same city where Peaky Blinders was filmed!). Later on, she worked on a cruise ship that travelled around the world and after her time at sea, she worked for a charity in Cambodia. Eventually, she returned to England and then finally decided to move to Italy, where she became part of the St. Louis community.
When we interviewed Miss Pathak, it was clear to us how much she loves her subject and values her students. Her eyes lit up when she talked about Biology; she stressed the positive impacts biology can have on students’ understanding of the world and of themselves.
“What do you love about teaching?”
“I love teaching biology because biology is the most important subject in the whole school. It doesn’t only teach you about the living world but also about you, because you’re also a living creature. It teaches you how to look after yourself in terms of nutrition, health and exercise. It also teaches you not to fall for scams! For example, that influencer that is telling you to drink only juice, selling tea that is going to make you skinny or a collagen cream, biology can tell you what is true and what is not!”
“What do you love about St. Louis and teaching in St. Louis School?”
“I guess I love the international community in St. Louis, learning Italian culture and helping the students improve their English skills, because Biology has a lot of vocabulary in it, so you learn a lot of new English words. Learning more English will help you when you go off to university, even if you do something to do with business, for example.”
Miss Pathak brings not just knowledge, but warmth, curiosity, and a sense of wonder into her classroom. Her journey across countries and her genuine love for science make her a truly inspiring teacher who helps her students see that Biology isn’t just a school subject, but a way of understanding life itself.
