The university is widely known for its fascinating Medicine (MBBS/BSc) course. The six year program provides a variety of clinical exposure, scientific practicals and clinical placements preparing students for the demanding field of medicine. In order to apply to this course, Imperial requires an overall IB score of 38 with two 6s in both higher level chemistry and biology. Students interested in this course will also have to take the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test).
Additionally, Imperial College London also provides a BSc course in Medical Biosciences which aims to prepare students for the pharmaceutical industry, biomedical research and many other related fields. Just like the Medicine course, an overall IB score of 38 and a 6 in higher level biology is required, with a second 6 coming from either higher level chemistry, physics or mathematics (both AA and AI are accepted). The three year course can also be integrated with Management, which combines business skills to provide an interdisciplinary course for interested undergraduates.
The 4 year engineering (MEng) courses are also highly sought after at Imperial. With the college offering both mechanical and biomedical engineering students find Imperial an aspiring option. Students looking to study mechanical engineering need an overall IB score of 40 with a minimum of a 6 in both Higher level Mathematics (Analysis & Approaches is preferred) and Physics. For biomedical engineering on the other hand, students require an overall IB score of 39 or above with 6s in all of their higher level subjects including Mathematics (AA is preferred) and Physics.
